Brian published a booklet on Walsh and I told him I would circulate this information to all Vets.' Divisions on his behalf.

Hi Bob; I am a retired Brockville elementary school teacher, with a great interest in Canadian history, particularly the stories of Sir John A. Macdonald and Brockville's own Major James Walsh, of the North West Mounted Police. For ten years I have been telling the story of Major Walsh and Sitting Bull, to groups of all ages around Eastern Ontario. I wear the original 1873 tunic to look the part of the original Force sent west by Sir John A.
In 2002, with the help of retired assistant commissioner Jack Wylie, we had a granite plaque made for Walsh and a ceremony was held to place it at his grave site in the Brockville Cemetery. In July 2005 on the centenary of his death, the Brockville Museum held a ceremony of remembrance at his grave. In order to make this story of a Canadian hero better known I published a booklet in February 2010, entitled "Major James Morrow Walsh of the North West Mounted Police - Friend of Sitting Bull"
