RCMP Hockey Stick

A quick run down of this project.  About a year ago I started to design a RCMP Hockey Stick to do a huge fundraiser for the "RCMP Fallen Members Fund"  I quickly learned that we did not have a "RCMP Fallen Members fund" so my focus quickly changed to what I can do to start one and who do I talk to.  The design was completed and then ran into a few snags that had to be dealt with, like copyright issues, who owned what logos, etc.  After conference calls with the RCMP foundation and Ottawa details were discussed.  I am very pleased to say that after a lot of work this stick will be the first product sold to the RCMP fund called "RCMP National Remembrance Fund"  There is alot of questions coming my way about the hockey sticks, so I will try to answer most of them here.  ATTACHED IS THE DESIGN OF THE STICK!!!!!!!!!!!!

1)  The RCMP Foundation will be selling all sticks www.rcmp-f.ca  I had to sign over all rights of the stick to the RCMP in order for this to work.

2)  There is no option in the make of the stick.  The stick you see is the stick being sold (no other colors, design or anything).  The only option is, is that you can order left or right hand curve.

3)  The stick is made by SBK (Sherbrook Hockey Company)  It is a 1-piece composite stick, ready to play or hang on your wall.  It is the Joe Sakic stick so it is a 90 flex and the Sakic curve.

Shaft length - 56'
Blade length - 12'

Material:
Shaft - 12% Carbon, 88 % Fibreglass
Blade - 40% Carbon, 60% Fibreglass
Lead Free Ink/Paint

4)  After speaking to The RCMP and the Foundation the price of the stick will be $119.95 + taxes & shipping.  THERE WILL BE ZERO MONEY GOING FOR PROFIT ON THIS STICK.  ALL MONEY after stick cost/design/ect. will be going to the new fund.  This stick will be the first product for the fund.

5)  The fund is named "RCMP National Remembrance Fund"

6)  All monies received for the RCMP National Remembrance Fund WILL NOT be going to the family members of any member killed.  As we all know our families are taken care of in such cases.  The monies in the fund Will be going to either a program or a monument for that fallen member in the community he/she served in.

7)  The sticks are officially a "go".  What we are waiting for is the MOU (Memorandum Of Understanding) to be signed between the RCMP and the Foundation.  Once that is signed (which I am told is very soon now) the RCMP Foundation web site will be advertising the stick and will be ready to sell.

8)  The ribbon on the stick blade is a ribbon I designed with the help of my sister (who is a graphic designer)  I was not able to use the regular ribbon we were on our vests as this ribbon is not the property of the RCMP.  It is my hope to one day get this ribbon as the ribbon we wear on our vests.

I am hoping this answers most of your questions for now.

You can rest assured that I am not making 1 penny on this project, and was never my intention to ever make any money on it.  I have had conference calls with Ottawa and the RCMP Foundation and made it clear that my intention for this stick is to be a fund raiser and to go to help and recognize our fallen heros.  After my talks again today with the Foundation I am assured this is the case.

I am hoping this stick is a success.  My plans were of course to have the sticks out during the hockey season but that never happened, then it was looking VERY promising on the playoff season but that never happened either.  Maybe I can get a golf club designed and have it and ready for sale in December  HA-HA

I want to thank everyone so much for the responses I have received.  All responses have been very positive and so far it looks like everyone likes the looks of the stick.

Please send this email to anyone and everyone you know who may be interested.

Once again, thank you so much for your response.

Please respond to this email if you want to know the exact date in which orders can be made.
