June 25, 2012

Important Reminder: The deadline date to apply for the RCMP National Scholarship program is July 15, 2012.

The RCMP National Scholarship Program is administered through the Benefit Trust Fund (BTF) Advisory Committee. Again this year, a total of 50 scholarships of $1,000 will be awarded to help pay for tuition at a recognized Canadian university or college. The allocation of the 50 scholarships is based on the current member establishment per division, ensuring that each division receives at least one scholarship.

The scholarship competition runs from May 1 to July 15th, 2012.

This program is open only to direct dependants of regular, civilian, retired or former members of the RCMP (including CSIS). In order to qualify, applicants must achieve a minimum average of 75% in their graduating year of secondary school and be enrolled in a Canadian University or College by September or already be attending a Canadian University /College on the condition that they are under the age of 25 and have not been a previous scholarship winner. In the event final marks are not available by the cut-off date, mid-terms will be accepted, with final marks to follow when received. Applicants must also provide a letter of recommendation outlining their volunteer work within the school and/or community.

The program is not open to grandchildren of members or former members.

Applicants are encouraged to read both the criteria and instructions carefully, as incomplete applications will not be considered.
