HQ's General Mess Annual Regimental Dinner 16 Oct 10



National Secretary, Alex GEDDES with L/General Andrew Leslie A.B., CMM, MSC, MSM, CD,
Canadian Forces Chief of Transportation was guest speaker.

Leslie stated that he was very proud and honoured to be our guest speaker and stated that he almost joined the RCMP as a young man instead of the Canadian Forces. 

Leslie focused on the close affinity that the Canadian Forces and the RCMP have in working together in International Missions. 

He has been in many parts of the world and stated that no other country can boast the close and effective working relationship that the Canadian Forces and RCMP have on the ground in conflict and peacekeeping situations.

 


Al Rivard, Pres. Ottawa Division is pictured with Harry Armstrong who is the recipient of of a special Warrant from the Commissioner in his role as a Sergeant Major during his career.

 

 


Staff Sargeant Major, Marc Dureau, Staff Sargeant Major (R'td) Dan Carroll and Corps Sargeant-Major (R'td) Mel Gilbey. 

(Both Dan and Mel received special Warrant Certificates from the Commissioner. 

Mel received two Warrants one for Sargeant Major and the other as Corps Sargeant-Major.

It is also noted that SSM, Marc Dureau will soon be seconded to the Mission to Afghanistan.
