The year 2009 was a good year for the BOD and its committees. The committee work seemed to move forward with zeal. The Marketing Committee is moving forward with getting businesses in Canada to give a discount to our Vet members. As of the writing of this notice Nerds on Site, Apple Auto Glass, Budget/Avis auto and truck rentals and Aviva Home and Auto Insurance have been signed off and one national clothing store has confirmed they will sign up to offer discounts. All of the discounts are taken to the Board of Directors and are voted on to ensure that the businesses we associate ourselves with are appropriate. If your local division has a sponsor who also offers a discount to you division from an industry which the national board has signed off on causes no problem nationally. You should support who ever supports you. Loyalty is earned. Check and see who is giving you the best price.

The video conference meetings have moved along well with all of our members arriving at the meetings prepared for the business of the day.

The notices of the AGM Regina Nominations went out on time and no one put their names forward other than the members of the Board of Directors that currently fill the positions. I congratulate Tim Hoban, Cal Small, Alex Geddes, Murray Milne and Jim Forsyth for their dedication to the Association and wish them well in their new two year term. I would like to thank Gov. Bill Patton (Edmonton Division) and Terry Ryan (Nova Scotia Division) for sitting on the Nomination Committee.
