Pension Administration Outsourcing Project (PAOP)

Announcement of Morneau Sobeco Contract Extension The contract with Morneau Sobeco (MS) to provide RCMP pension administration services has been extended to cover the three-year period from April 1, 2010 to March 31, 2013.

The contract extension ensures that serving RCMP members, pensioners and survivors will continue to receive a consistent level of service while the Pension Administration Outsourcing Project (PAOP) oversees all aspects of the transition to Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC).

Starting on April 1, 2013, PWGSC is scheduled take over the delivery of RCMP pension administration services. Through PWGSC, serving members, pensioners and survivors will benefit from access to specialists with extensive knowledge of public sector pensions. The new arrangement will also take advantage of new technologies while providing long-term stability.

It's important to understand that the transfer to PWGSC involves the administration of pension services, and not the investment of the funds themselves.

If you're a serving regular or civilian member, there will be no change to your pension contributions as a result of the transition to PWGSC in 2013.

If you're an RCMP pensioner or survivor, the amount and frequency of your payments will not change when PWGSC takes over the administration of your plan.

For more information on the Pension Administration Outsourcing Project, please contact Chantal Pethick, Acting Director, at (613) 993-1451, or via email.
